M is for Macro #atozchallenge #AZchat

toadstoollampshadeDid you know a roll of film (36 images) will generally produce 2 keepers? I think a lot of people don’t realize this. Volume, volume, volume!

If you don’t think you can take a decent picture, try taking more of them. Really look at the frame and everything within it before pressing the shutter. Being thoughtful and waiting for the right moment can also make a big difference.

My digital library currently has 22,382 images. That means 1,243 of them are really good keepers. That sounds about right. (I really should delete the other 21,139.)

2keyThis past year, I finally had the chance to get a macro lens. You know, those ridiculously expensive, heavy lenses that help you get super close to an insect or see minute details on the head of a pin. I haven’t had much chance to play with it yet, but just looking through my test shots for this post got me excited about macro all over again. This weekend? Macro shoot!
